A new addition for the pool deck

I know what I want for my birthday! A canoe full of beer for the pool deck.

Melissa's annual Leinie's gift

Every year for my birthday my friend Melissa gives me something purchased from the Leinie's online store. She knows it is my favorite beer so she usually buys me something totally random and something totally useful. Last year she gave me soap made from beer and an awesome BBQ apron with a bottle opener and a built-in beer holder.

This year I received coasters and some really cool pint glasses that are laser cut on the bottom to maximize beer flavor. Yeah, I'm not quite sure how they work but Lincoln loves them. It has something to do with releasing the flavor or the bubbles or something. I'm not quite sure what.

Anyway, the "random" gift this year was a key rack that had the bottle caps of all the Leinie's beers. It was ridiculous how excited Lincoln and I were over this gift. Yesterday we finally got it hung up in the kitchen so I figured I'd take this chance to show it off.

HoneyWeiss is not a breakfast beverage

The other day when I spotted HoneyWeiss in the liquor store I bought their entire stock (which was only about six 6-packs) in case it was a fluke of nature never to be repeated again. Unfortunately, everything they had was cold so needless to say a good portion of our mini fridge upstairs and a shelf or two in the kitchen fridge are overflowing with the love of Chippewa Falls, WI. This morning I was getting Jake's breakfast ready and asked him if he'd like chocolate milk with his breakfast. He said "yes please...and you can have a beer". I laughed and told him that beer is not yet classified as a breakfast beverage. For now, since I'm secure in the knowledge that Leinie's is here to stay, I plan to keep drinking it only at dinner time.

Paradise Found!

Leinie's HoneyWeiss and BerryWeiss can now be found in Massachusetts! Years of smuggling it out here in a suitcase, loading up the back of our car on the road trip from Iowa, and attempting to drive over the border into New York to buy Leinie's has finally come to an end. The world's greatest beer can now be purchased here in Massachusetts.

Now, if I can just get Mike to start selling it down at the Rose Garden on draft I'll be one happy (and very drunk) camper!
