Angry mix - Part 2

As written about earlier this week Jen made me a second "angry mix" for when I need to vent my frustrations. She always creates a perfect combination of country, pop, and totally random stuff I would never listen to but thoroughly enjoy. She has the formula for my listening tastes down perfectly. My own personal DJ

My former receptionist Jennifer made me a fantastic "angry mix" CD awhile back when I was really frustrated at work. In March I challenged her to come up with another one. It has taken a little while but it is now August and she has come up with another ideal mix for me. Only she can take my anger and mix it with a little country, a little pop, and a little "who the hell is this?" and turn it into my new anthem. She's going to send me the complete list of song titles and artists soon and I will publish it as soon as she does.

Sick days

Yesterday morning I woke up feeling fine and within the hour I was sick as a dog. I have no idea what sort of bug I have but it hasn't been fun. I stayed home from work yesterday and went in for about 2 hours today to just deal with the absolute minimum that had to be dealt with. Now I'm in bed with a fantastic new website that my friend Jen introduced me to today. I am both entertained and horrified by today's youths. http://www.textsfromlastnight.com/

Secrets of a Happy Marriage

A few years ago Lincoln and I were getting ready for a trip to Iowa with the kids and things got a little crazy. Our fridge died a few days before we left and I remember standing in Lowe's looking at refrigerators with Hannah when Jake's daycare called and told me he had broken out in a rash of some sort. With everything else going on in regards to just getting ready for the trip it made for a really crazy few days.

Once we got to Iowa we were having a very enjoyable evening with some friends and I was talking about how crazy and hectic things had been. Our friend asked Lincoln if things got stressful between the two of us when all those things started going wrong at once....basically she was asking if we turn on each other like some couples do.... and I absolutely loved Lincoln's response.

Link: No, because it's us against the world. We're in this together.

That is so true in regards to our relationship. Everything we tackle we tackle as a team and I think that makes our marriage incredibly strong.

Last night we went out to dinner with my friend Jennifer and during dinner we were talking about how long Lincoln and I had been together. I said that we have been dating for 10 years this August. It's funny that we will have been married nine years this coming October but I still measure time in terms of us dating. We make the time to be together as a couple in addition to being parents and husband/wife and I love it. I think it's good for us and it's good for the kids to see their parents so in love.

And those are my wise words for today....

A Public Plea and a Musical Challenge All in One

Last June Jennifer made me a fantastic "angry mix" CD. Since work has been so extremely craptastic lately I'm afraid I'm wearing the CD out.

Chad/Melissa, my other two music nerd friends, please feel free to take this on as a challenge. Let me see what you can come up with to help me vent my frustrations!

And Lincoln, can you please help me get my Angry CD onto my iPod so I can stop carrying this CD everywhere? What is this, 1995?

Happy Birthday to Jen who is turning 25 today! I really wish I could help you celebrate.

If she hadn't already left she would be SO fired! LOL. She forgot to have me order more labels for my label maker and now I'm out. Man, I was really in the zone this morning with my organizing.

Last week during her final days as my employee Jennifer camped out in my office with me and forced me to get through all of my filing. The two of us went through a HUGE box of back filing and got everything current. This morning I'm in the office early and it is such a relief to have everything filed and easily accessible while I plow through all the other crap on my desk. I love that girl. And I miss her terribly.
